Steve Girsky is a veteran automotive executive with over 30 years in the industry. Girsky was Vice Chairman at General Motors, where he held a number of executive roles including Chairman of Opel, GM’s European business, global supply chains, corporate strategy, and research and product planning, among others. Mr. Girsky has also worked closely with the UAW and served as trustee for the UAW Retiree Medical Trust. Since leaving GM, Mr. Girsky has served on a number of boards, including US Steel and Valens Semiconductor Ltd. Mr. Girsky started his career as an automotive analyst, becoming head of the global automotive research team at Morgan Stanley where he was the top ranked auto analyst by Institutional Investor for 14 years.
Mr. Girsky is actively involved in fostering innovative technology for the smart mobility industry. He is a director of Drive.AI, a Silicon Valley startup creating AI software for autonomous vehicles. He is also a founder of VectoIQ, an advisory firm helping new technology companies in the smart transportation field.
Mr. Girsky holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of California and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
